1029 ha Grazing farm with 200 ha of arable land of which 70 ha is currently established with eragrostis and smuts finger grass.
PASTURE
829 ha High quality natural grazing where good pasture management is applied. A livestock unit is 2 -2.5 ha. The pasture consists of flat plains as well as rolling hills that offer good sheltered summer and winter grazing. The pasture is divided into 17 grazing camps, each with access to earth dams. Only the camps near the homestead are provided with water troughs.
The fences are in good condition, erosion control is applied and there are no invasive plants such as “slangbos” and “katbos”.
PLANTED PASTURE
70 ha Is currently planted with eragrostis and smutfinger grass where sufficient bales are cut for supplementary fodder for livestock during wintertime.
ARABLE LAND
There are currently 200 ha of land but there is potential to increase it to 500 ha.
Currently, 70 ha of the arable land has been converted into planted pasture for livestock.
Soil type: Loam with ±18% clay content.
Minimum tillage is applied to fields.
The yield potential is between 7 and 10 tonnes of maize per hectare.
Crop rotation is mainly done with maize and soybeans.
Chemical supplements on the lands are done every 3 years.
WATER
6 Boreholes, 1 of which is equipped with a submersible pump.
